'45 - Psychobilly Retropocalypse

I downloaded this game and I must admit I found it to be a delight and well worth the money I spent on it. It's very evocative of the feel of Bruce Campbell / Sam Raimi movies (Like Army of Darkness set in the Rockabilly age daddy-o!). Even if a Game master isn't interested in using the system "as is" the game background would transfer very easilly to any universal role-playing system. I've used it as a supplement for a friend's GURPS game as well as in HERO system and conversions were a breeze. What I appreciated most is that this game is complete as a one shot purchase. Unlike some other game companies (White Wolf / Wizards of the Coast, anyone?) you don't need to buy a bazillion, expensive, supplements just to play it properly. The core book and some dice are all you need. I give this my highest rating! It's a must have if you like campy role-play, rockabilly, or retro culture. The art is very distinctive as well. ... ZelArt3: Female Fantasy
by Joe Kushner [Featured Reviewer] Date Added: 10/26/2009 06:17:51
[read full review]
Female Fantasy is a seven page product which consist of the cover page, a page referencing how to use the product in your own works, and five seperate illustrations. The illustrations include a reversed image of the cover so by looking at the cover, one should be able to tell if the art style is their preference. The 'bad' thing about the book though, is that the last illustration and perhaps the most unique of them, suffers from the 'WTF' moment in that it appears to be the back of a six armed horned entity. The other illustrations are all fairly archtypical in that we have the wild woman, the court lady, semi-apocalyptic tough, and professional 'celebrater' who looks like she'd be at home in the Mardi Gra ... 100 Science Fiction Adventure Seeds
by Kevin Mayz [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 09/23/2009 18:20:46

Just like 100 Fantasy Seeds, this product gives you a one page description per seed with a variety of twists for each. And with a little creativity of your own thrown in, each seed can be expanded upon and developed into a full night’s adventure. In addition, every page also contains an epilogue, which gives you a possible conclusion if you choose to use it. Nicely done.

Very interesting, I always thought Neverwhere would be an ideal roleplay setting. I will now have to go back and read the book again before contemplating running a game.

Wow Im not really sure what to say about this game. It is a piece of worth fer shure. Im not sure what kind of person it takes to design something like this but Im pretty sure its not someone I want my daughters to date. Game play was fun, although a bit twisted. Seeing the wives face when I brought it out to play for my gaming buddies was priceless. Getting brought into the plant managers office with my supervisor and HR manager to write me up for printing this game at work and forgetting it on the printer....well not so fun. ... 100 Fantasy Adventure Seeds

I love these types of products, and this collection is nothing short of amazing! Each seed is described in full detail on one page, with three twists that can be applied to each seed, and an epilogue. In addition, ideas are sprinkled in with each seed providing notes and adventure hints to add even more variety, giving you a very useful product indeed. The first ten seeds alone gave me numerous adventure ideas, and are simply great fun to read. James has provided a remarkably detailed and very creative supplement that can easily be inserted into an ongoing campaign with a little tweaking. ... [read full review]

100 Fantasy Adventure Seeds

This is an excellent brainstorming work that will help any GM who is designing a fantasy campaign and wants to establish interesting and evocative things for the player characters to be doing. Let's get the negative out of the way first: There are a few awkward phrases and/or bad editing in places, and there is not much attention given to exactly how one is supposed to use the work itself (although the GM advice that's given is fine.) Maybe I'm supposed to know whether my group wants to teleport from problem to problem or if they are all supposed to be linked somehow, but it would be nice to know how I am to figure that out and how to implement it. Now on to the positive, and there's a lot of it. Unlike other "adventure hook" books, this one goes into considerable detail on the hooks. Each is given a full-page writeup, each has at least two possible twists, and an "epilogue" that presents different ideas for what could happen after the adventure is over. The hooks cover all sort ... [read full review]

Autopsy Issue 1

I found this magazine to be generally *ok*, not great, not terrible. The articles did offer some interesting insights but it felt too scattered to be truly useful. Nothing I could really use in my games, at best it was vague inspiration, the same as I might get from a good TV show or novel. I did enjoy it though.

TobyArt 1: War Priests
by Daniel Dover [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/26/2009 07:00:00

Most clip art products aren't even worth the time to look at, much less the money to buy, and at 15 dollars, War Priests seems like an expensive purchase. However, the art within is spectacular, nothing that would look out of place in any professionally published product. The art has character and poise, and grabs the reader instantly. At 10 pieces of art, each picture itself costs only 1.50, making it a steal compared to the average Postmortem clip art product. If you're an independent publisher, or just a guy like me who likes to spruce up the products he puts online, this item is definitely worth your consideration. I look forward to seeing more of Toby's fine work. ... [read full review]

Living Constructs

Great art and layout, a well done PDF. Sadly the rules inside are not well balanced to the 4e race design specs. The Ability bonuses are especially troublesome as none hold to the +2 bonus to two abilities that all races except humans get in the new 4e products. I'd like to see a revision on these, in which case I would more heartily endorse the product.

A serious game - on a less than serious subject. Granted, the product looks like it's all nudge and wink, but the mechanics are sound, the rules well thought-out, and the game is expandible. Don't play it near the kiddies though.

I found this product interesting, but according to my account, I have downloads for this active, but currently have my purchased copy. This leaves me confused, especially in the wake of attempting to purchase three players guides from White Wolf, only to have every attempt fail, yet to receive the ability to send remarks about them. What gives? Did I do something wrong, press the wrong key, enter the wrong info? Please e-mail me at rurikjapa@yahoo.com to let me know.
