Greetings Alex! I'm new to the Isometric thing, so bear with me. I came here from the holding-bundle thing. A few things about the offer jump out at me immediately. First.. What in the name of God am I going to do with 600 transparent images??

Second, they don't make any mention of whether or not your pieces are reversable, or even how many faces they have 2, 4? I think 2 with a reversable view is most common these days, but I don't want to assume. I think I had other questions, but those were the main ones. (How do you do like desktop clutter in isometric?)

The main reason I've never dove in to Isometric is because the asset cost is crazy high. This pack would at least give me a real nice starter set of a few hundred assets to play with, so I'm totally interested if you can give me some insight here.

Thanks so much!

Hi there. Any tips on how to import these maps into Astral VTT? I've done it with Roll20 but you don't appear to be able to adjust the grid orientation (or I may just be missing something).

Hi. I'm trying to set this up in Fantasy Grounds Unity but i'm having some trouble setting up the isometric grid.
Has anyone managed to figure out the width and height for the squares?

After some experimentation, I found that 83.6 x 48.2 is pretty much as close as its going to be.
Theres a little drift over larger maps but its close enough.

I tried the free halloween maps to test and I couldn't get the grids to link up at all. So far not recommended for FGU I think.

ok, I take this back I was trying to line up the grid with those faint lines, I see that was the wrong way to go about it. The trick was getting miniatures down on the map and I used your grid size and it made sense.

I continued with my experimentation and worked the aspect ratio to be roughly 1:1.76
To match the squares on the map, I set my isometric grid in FGU to 55 x 32.1
Its not exact but the creep is minimal and good enough for most cases

Has anyone successfully used this in roll20?

I bought it outside the roll20 marketplace and manually imported the assets, but everything just gets resized to a width of 200px which causes each asset to have different grid sizes.

Yes, I can resize an *instance* of an asset to the correct default size but I do not want to do that since I can't change and then save the size of an asset, just an instance of it.

I do not see why he is avoiding the multiple people asking about this working with Hobbyets Dungeon Builder. It is also another easy way to create isometric maps. The least he could do is try to see if he could make it work. I would be glad to buy these map packs if I could verify that they work on Dungeon Builder without having to spend the money and testing it myself.

Heya. Great assets, I'm really looking forward to using them in my future games! I am running into a Roll20 related issue however, I cannot get many of the assets to drop onto the VTT at the correct size. Is there a specific way beyond the recommended page setup (100x100 units, 4ft squares, no grid) that I should be setting my games up to get around this issue?

Hi, I purchased the bundle and I was wondering have you ever used MapTools? I am having a hard time trying to get the Isometric grid to line up with the maps that are in the bundle.

I don't suppose you happen to have any experience with this would you?

Hi Alex! I have purchased recently the patreon season 2 and would like to proceed with purchasing 3 more sets (Monster pack 1, Patreon 1 and the bundle here). Since I use Roll20 as well, could I contact you to help me with importing all the stuff at once and not piece by piece?
Also a follow up question : will I be needing to upgrade my subscription in Roll20 (from free to anything) so as to have enough space to save all these items?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Alex,

I purchased the entire Epic Isometric collection of DriveThruRPG and am having an issue. Individual collections of items, ei, the Original Map Elements vs Peaceful Hamlet import into graphics programs at different scales such that if trying to using them together, every single piece has to be re-scaled. Indeed, none of them match the scale of the base maps either. This is rather frustrating and hoping I am just doing something wrong, would appreciate your input.

I resolved this. I found out for some reason my program was natively importing images at 90dpi. Because some of the assets had different resolutions, they were scaled differently during import. It would be nice to have all of the assets at a consistent dpi so this did not happen, but I understand if that is not possible. I used GIMP and it worked fine.

Hi there, just purchased this and trying build some maps on roll20. After an hour of trying to get my head around it I am about to give up. I can not see how you can add map elements together. they seem to be added to the map page as tiny items, and as they do not line up with each other, with some items having different edge angles (they would never line up with each other.. I imagine I am missing something here in how best to use them. But I do not see how to move forward.

Alex - im a roll 20 newbie and having a similar problem. When i look at page setup all measurements are in pixels (not units as per your suggestion). Ive seen a tutorial video regarding isometric that was using a resize script and they seem to have a similar option in units.. but sripts are only available t premium users...

Am i best going pro to use your art - as andrew above stated. im about to give up after several hours of trying to work out how to use your beautiful art...

Hi Alex, new purchaser here. I love the artwork but I have a similar problem even with your recommended page settings.

The problem appears to be with roll20 setting the default asset size to 200 px in width (preserving aspect ratio), which ultimately causes the grid sizes across different assets to be different when slapped onto the VTT.

This looks super cool and I really appreciate the hand drawn look, but are there plans to go full colour? Pardon my ignorance, but this can be used in Roll20, Fantasy Grounds, etc? I saw this on facebook and hit the link.

Hey there Don, yeah I use it in roll20 and fantasygrounds. I have been playing around with test colour assets but I do plan on keeping all the official releases to this sketch style.

I was excited to include this into my dungeon building with Hobbyte's DungeonBuilder, but apparently I should have done some additional background research. Had I known that I would spend 15 hours, $50, and more emotional and intellectual labor than I care to admit I would not have purchased. Even after following the instructions on NexusMod (which are vague) and scouring the downloads for any kind of instruction (and finding none), I'm no closer than when I started. Even reading the discussions here, I can see that there is a mention going back to August that has not been responded to by the publisher (but they have replied to other more recent inquiries). I'm going to repeat this in the Reviews section, I don't like to complain but I'm not sure what choice I have aside from just taking a loss.

I have nothing to do with Hobbytes DungeonBuilder, I designed these to be drag and drop into the big popular digital tabletops. I am super disappointed you have not liked the material, Shoot me an email alexdrummo@gmail.com and I'll happily sort it out for you.

I love these so much. If you want a great free program for this; Microsoft Whiteboard is awesome (and endless). I now have EVERY one of these packs. This can be years of fun! I've just started working on making Epic Isometric maps for specific D&D modules flat maps. I'll have entire towns, outdoor areas and dungeons built soon. One thing I do wish is that the objects were in color. Great job for VTT !

Anybody else notice that the while the bundle costs $50, the individual books plus the halloween book cost a total of $40 at the moment?

No they don't. The Monster Pack is 10, Hero pack is 10, patreon season 1 and 2 are both 10, and the classic + advanced bundle is 12.50. The Halloween one is free.

That's actually $52.50, so you save $2.50 with this one.

Nice artwork. I have a couple of questions. 1 - Is there a license included with this pack for using the items for commercial purposes, or is that not allowed? 2 - Is it possible to import/cut and paste the icons and pics into PowerPoint? Thank you.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
