Welcome to 100 Oddities for a Wizard's Tower, the fifth entry in the “Oddities” series of sourcebooks, each of which brings you 100 imaginative elements, curios, and details to add to your games or stories in whatever way you like.

Oddities are intended to aid storyteller creativity, turning possibly bland areas, and the goal of this publication is to make things more fun and to take your imagination in directions it might not otherwise have gone. They fill in the corners of a bookshelf, a room, a level, a scenario, with all the sorts of things that add interest but take loads of time to come up with. A good oddity awakens curiosity and creativity, in player and storyteller alike, adding interest to an encounter, or even making one out of nothing.

Volumes in this series include 100 Oddities for a Creepy Old House100 Oddities for a Graveyard100 Oddities for a Thieves’ Guild100 Oddities for a Wasteland100 Oddities for a Wizard’s Library100 Oddities for an Enchanted Forest100 Oddities for a Found Car, and 100 Oddities for a Wizard’s Tower

Skirmisher Publishing almost always has at least a couple of items discounted and you can view them on our dedicated Sales section! Our sale items are usually thematic in some way, and might tie in with holidays, other events, or the topic of the weekly "d-Infinity Live!" gaming webcast (e.g., discounting by 50% 10 items with "Monsters" in their titles in support of the Monster Development episode of the show).

The oddities section is a great playing aid, providing mundane to minimal powered items that add character and intrrigue to a rooms. The rooms and entrance/exit sections I did not find as useful. If my players are in a wizard's tower, I generally hav [...]

At first glance the Oddities books seem like a fun little one off but not that much more. I however am here to tell you that they are hands down one of the most interesting ways to create story hooks and adventure seeds that I could have ever hoped for [...]

Another win by the lads at Skirmisher. This is the second "100 Oddities" supplement I have had the pleasure of looking through. I loved their "100 Oddities for a Graveyard" entry and the Wizard's Tower is no less detailed and useful [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
